Hey HAMBers, Slide was kind enough to give me a good deal on an air compressor and now this poor boy needs some help figuring out how to get it from Mesquite, TX to Houston, TX.

If any of you fellas are making a trip in the general area of DFW and Houston over the next month or so, I would really appreciate a HAMB relay.

My first thought would be anybody who is comin' down from DFW for the thing at the Continental in Houston next weekend but anything will help.

    Thanks in advance,

    Big Daddy Eric

How big of compressor ? Do I need a truck ? Might be able to help you out. I might be in the Houston area in about a month. I have to see a buddy that is in Lockhart, behind bars.

<font color="green">How far is Houston from Dallas?

I will be in Dallas the beginning of July with a company rental and they pay for gas.

Oh wait, is that the compressor you stole out from under me? [IMG]

Rashy- you never made an offer!!!

The compressor could fit easily in a small p/u truck bed, or even smaller SUV/wagon if you fold the rear seat down.

I offered BDE to take it halfway if that helps anybody.

  5. Rent a mini-van, throw some cardboard down in the back and go get it. How much could that cost?

So Dan, should I come by your place in a couple a days to use your mini-van? Ya got some cardboard I can borrow or can I just put it straight on your carpet?

And for that Rashy, I oughta make you drive all the way down here. [IMG]

But for that I gotta say thanks and give ya a break. [IMG]

No Rashy, I would hate to see you make the drive all the way down here just for that, although I really appreciate the offer.

And George, thanks to you too man. I think it would probably take you way out of your way on your way to Lockhart but if you are coming around Houston also then it might work well. Slide is right though, it would probably take at least a small suv or truck. Or one of those big ole ‘3 dead body’ sized Cad or Buick trunks. If you ARE in a position to do it though, I would gladly throw you some gas money or somethin’ for your downed buddy’s commissary account or whatever you think best. So when it gets close to time for your trip, if you would PM me, we can see how things sit then.

Slide was kind enough to offer to meet me half way, which I might have to take him up on but I was hoping not to inconvenience him unless I had to.

So basically, let’s see if we hear from any HAMBers who will be coming into town. That way nobody has to go way out of their way on my account. And if nobody is then I might have to take one of you fellas up on your offers.

Thanks again for the offers of help guys,

    BDE

<font color="green">The company pays for the rental, gas, AND I will be making time and a half on Saturday or double time on Sunday. [IMG]

Make no mistake though, it WILL be a toaster on wheels.

I have hauled stuff before, just pop out the back seat and a compressor will fit just fine!

Man, you guys are the best. If I didn't have a heart made of rusty steel, it would feel warmed right now. Thanks for all the effort.

And honestly it would be worth it to see Rashy rip the back seat out of his rental and keep it at the hotel while he trucks equipment around in the car. LOL

Let me check with********* and see what his schedule is. If Slide could meet him near Waco and he could bring it into Houston this weekend or next that would rock really hard.

    I'll keep ya posted.

My son lives in Carrollton, he is coming here in a PU this weekend, if could get to him I am 2 hours from Houston, would be closer than Waco. Depends on size of compressor as he is bringing my wife a Coca Cola cooler she bought @ Ennis. If this will work e-mail me @ Eddie_Bell@msn.com and we will get phone #s etc get this hooked up.

I'll be in Dallas for the weekend in two weeks. I'll be there with a full sized truck. I live at the edge of downtown Houston.

    Let me know.
