I hope you'll include some old Rockets that may not exit today, but made an impression back when. early el caballo.jpg

My 303 built it back in 2003 never fired. Getting ready to tear it down again and add more goodness. 20221229_132235.jpg

  12. Both the "rocketeers"- Olds folks and "rockstars with torquewrenches" the 49-54 Chevy group used to post a ton. Both were defacto "clubs" here on the HAMb in the early years. You can see a ton of cool threads by searching either group

  18. Oh, you mean engines, I thought you meant those jet propelled engines things that put people and satellites in space.

  19. Yeah, looks like Sioux City to me. Dad has some shots from there.

    Was your family from Hudson?

I have this one "under the stairs". I bought it to put into my vintage dirt car because it ran an Oldsmobile during it's championship years (the car now has a built '54 Chrysler hemi). I bought it from a guy who really didn't know what it was, but I have torn it down enough to know that it is a fresh rebuild that has never been run. It is a '51 303 and has an Iskendarian cam of unknown type and a set of adjustable rocker arms.. You can see the Offenhauser dual quad manifold and the Mallory flattop. I also have the adapter to mate it to an early Ford ('32-'48) and later Ford ('49-'64) including a stater "switchover". Also, a set set of Hurst front mounts. Olds Rocket.JPG
