My HS car was a meadow green 49 tudor sedan. I totalled it my senior year. Always liked and missed it and sought them out at car shows for years. Finally 50 years later, I found this great looking coupe and I'm having the best time with it. Who says you can't re-live your youth! I plan to drive this one a lot safer though.

It's certainly an aftermarket accessory, made to fit shoeboxes back when they were young. I don't have any idea who made it -- could have been Whitney -- but I've seen a few of those over the years. It's kinda fun, and probably more interesting than the stock '51 ornament; I think I'd probably keep it.

 

Those whitewalls are quite a bit skinnier than the car would have worn in '51, but I think they work perfectly with the stock hubcaps and beauty rings. They really suit the look of the car; I hope you aren't planning to change them.

I think I got my repops from Concours Auto Parts in Carson City, NV. The quarters aren't perfect (the tips aren't exactly the same shape as the stock spears), but perfect stock ones are pretty hard to find.
