I think you missed this part
"Like always, you had to remain within the bounds of good taste, but with all the great cars running the streets in the 50's and 60's it wasn’t hard to do."

That's where the rub lies, those wheels are not within the bounds of good taste.

    Hows that in the winter?
I have been thinking about smoothing my firewall, but not sure as I want the shoe to be my daily driver. As it doesnt get as cold as MN, it can get chilli here speciall early am.

  3. oh man, this car is resting quietly during the winter monthes.
yeah, no heat can be a drag,
it can't get that cold in CA, haha!

It doesnt get that cold, but early am can be a drag.

Now that's funny right there! Thanks for the link. If you recall, I commented on your wheels several months ago in your build thread. Nice!

    No, I didn't miss it. I disagree.

Maybe I lost it from all the bickering, but DadsBlueFord, why aren't you keeping the Shoebox like it is in your Avatar ? Even as a 4 door, it looks really Nice the way it is setup now.

Dude, 12v tractor cab or golf cart heater. They put out monster heat and good ones are only about $70.

And if you guys have read my "Electric AC pump" thread don't think I've completely lost it. Lots of guys do this and it works excellent for heat and defrost.... The heater, not the AC I'm exploring.

Thanks, but the avatar is a photoshop of how it was going to be before I found all the rust. Since I have to repair a bunch of rust and shoddy previous body work, I decided to take it to bare metal and a new color. Originally was going back and forth between blue metallic and copper metallic, then was strong-armed by my 4-year-old daughter (it will eventually be her car) into purple.

I apologize for the bickering, but there are a couple of ways to disagree with someone's car choices. One is constructive criticism, e.g., sevenevez reply. That I'm happy to get. The other is being a dick, e.g., telling me I have bad taste or that I should be on another forum. Give me that and I'll tell you to fuck off every time.

If I see something on your car I like, I'll tell you. If I see something I don't, I keep my trap shut, because it's your car not mine. Some apparently never learned from their moms, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

  12. got a link for those $70 heaters? the ones i find are double that.:D

The one I was thinking of was in Northern Tools catalog. I just looked online (www.northerntool.com) and I don't see it. I'll pull one of my catalogs this weekend and see if i can find it.

Beautiful Zach, great detail with your stainless!
My 41 is heading to Germany tomorrow so the last chance to bring the girls together.
I can afford them both, one had to go. Now I can focus on the 50 and her needs.

  22. thanks!
i like that orange, looks great.
and the peep mirrors down low, i may have to steal that.
did you chop it? the c-pillars look good, it's hard to keep them from getting flat with a chop that hard.

It might be time for me to join this party. Mine is far from done, but it's starting to look like a car again.
