Finally got my shoebox running this past weekend. Fresh engine built 15 years ago by my dad, then life got in the way. He passed two years ago and I'm just getting it to the point where it's drivable again.

I'll have fuel pump issues sorted soon and will post a video of it running then. Goes in for exhaust Thursday. Straight pipes all the way to the back bumper!

Glad to hear you are getting closer! And if you get rid of the visor I'll take first dibs!

I had a '49 for about 14 years. Sold it about 2 years ago and missed it so that I bought another one from a HAMB seller. It's a '51 chopped ,sectioned ,bagged etc. Been restructuring lots of the metal items especially in the trunk area ands under the back seat area. I will post picks later when it starts to look like something again.

Keep reminding me. It'll stay on there for the foreseeable future bit will go away when it gets chopped. That will be several years down the road.

Very nice! That's one thing I'm gonna miss with my 302 swap - nothing sounds as good as a flathead!

Helping out pops get his 50 coupe going. I have installed a SBC 700r4 combo. Using Butch's rod shop motor mounts. Stock front suspension and will be running the aerostar springs. Who I'd running the same combination that can give me ideas on the trans tunnel .. Home made or from another car ? Any pics ?

    Noth'n finer than a '49ner.
Driven a lot. '64 289 with the original 3 spd w/ OD and a rear end from a '51 automatic car. Great running car.

Cool coupe, love the colour , any leads as to what the colour is. I think we are going to run the same wheel combo also if these are 56 mercury wheel covers. Our 49 coupe is presently in bare metal ,.... Still. Major repairs and minor mild mods. So still loose on colour choice ,though blue zone .

Well I never put a finished pic of the Vic up. A proud owner on our trip to the Roundup last year. 1400 miles maiden voyage and I didn't even have to pull out a screw driver.

Has much been happening lately? I did the spindle flip the other day to mine. Looking at putting bags in so I thought I would give it a try. Not sure how I will do the rear yet.

Nice Job. What is going on with the wheels partial chrome and partial paint. I like that treatment, how did you do that? bob

Are those stock wheels? Where did you get the bullet / cone for the center of them?

I'd been planning on running some push through cones and bullet lugs on my car but all the cones I can find are for a 3 1/8" wheel bore - too big for stock shoebox hubs. I'm trying to avoid spider caps. Thanks!
