As you may know by now, I usually hit the road very early on weekends and head out on an adventure. Even though I drive a couple hundred miles a day on my oxygen route at work I never seem to get tired of exploring the American Mid West. This time I left home about 5 am on a Sunday morning and headed to the southwest corner of Missouri (4.5 hour drive) to the home of Ryno. This was a couple of months ago and the weather was good. I was lucky enough to buy two Caddy engines from him. He had a nice home and shop along with a nice family and a friendly dog. I found him working in his shop with the doors open while his kids rode bicycles in their quiet neighborhood. Here is Ryan.[IMG]

After checking out a Merc frame he was putting on air ride for a customer, it was time for me to hit the road. Was a short visit but I enjoyed it. Lots of you have visited Ryno who lives near the Mo-Kan Speedway but these photos are for the ones who haven't been there. Thanks for selling me the engines and catch you next time Ryno!

I stopped on the way home to buy an old batwing air cleaner I had seen the night before in the Wichita craigslist ads. [IMG]

While there, I spotted a very cool hemi engine in the man's garage. "Is that for sale?" I bought it too---[IMG]

Then I was like " I sure do like this old 30 Chrysler coupe you have here. Is it for sale?" and he said it was his Dad's old car and he was in very poor health. I was lucky enough to buy it that day for my pal Bobwop in WI. Real nice car. And then I stopped to show it to a friend near my home and ended up selling the car to him before I ever got it off my trailer. SOLD:)[IMG]

So was your pal Bobwop in WI pissed that you sold the Chrysler you bought for him? Nice looking car! And a very productive road trip.

Nope----he made a nice profit without ever laying eyes on the car. He found out about all of this later that night. :D It was just one of those lucky days. My friend who bought it was very happy too.

And even though the Chrysler coupe is a long wheelbase car, it still looks small in it's new home parked beside a 24 Dodge Brothers touring car---[IMG]

Why do people refer to those as bat wing air cleaners?

    Paul,
You should auction a weekend with you on one of these ROAD trips. Thanks for the inside look at a part of America that not all of us get to see. Slim

Very cool shop! That blue caddy looks familier. Was it at the roundup last year? I have a pic of my son and I kneeling down in front of the black caddy that was taken from the roundup in 2009. Ryno does some good work.
