El dorado is just far enough away I can make it still! Someone PM me when this gets finalized?

    Thanks,

Okay then - this is firming up like good Bondo.

    OFFICIAL DATE:

    FEB. 22nd

    OFFICIAL LOCATION:

ELDORADO PARK in Lakewood, CA (405/605)

    OFFICIAL TIME:

what do ya'll think? Noon? 2? 4? It IS a BBQ, so we should start early and get the fires going. I'm pretty sure they've got BBQ grilles there - it's been awhile since I've been there, but I distinctly remember seeing them last time I went. I hope it's not changed.

This is a cool deal. I think we'll have a great turnout and a great time....

Here's a warning - I make amazingly good "nitro" chili. I'm planning on brewing up a batch for this lil' shindig, and if you like chili, you'll love mine. If you hate chili, you'll like mine. If you don't like spicy food, don't even look at the pot. Don't open the lid, and don't breathe the air in the vicinity of the pot. If I get serious with it, the cars won't be the only things with flamethrower exhausts.

I'll probably make two batches...one for the pussies and one for the brave.

This is gonna be so cool...!!

If anyone else has "specialty" dishes they proudly create, let's see em'... But they better be damn good.

    Scotch~!

I'm a ready Teddy for this picnic. El Dorado Park is close and pretty nice. $5 gets you in.

Hey Scotch, the Nitro chilli sounds good. I'll bring a pot of the notorous Hydrazine Flash Chili. As my bro Francois says: "If your bowels are quaking and the farts are green you must be running Hydrazine."

PS HAMBers who plan on attending the March Meet please join us at the end of the track, by the first turn out, for eats and beverages.

    Sounds good.

Why is this such a newbie thing so far? Where is the Original Hamber posse?

I'm only going to show up if I can be guaranteed the oportunity to talk leftist politics with Dr.J.

Eldorado Park is in Long Beach, not Lakewood....

I watched them plant the trees when I was a kid, now the trees are huge and I'm still short....

Good place for a picnic but don't bring any booze, they do patrol the park and the police firing range is at the north end of the park and I heard a rumor that they use drunks for target practice. [IMG]

    Here's a map.
thake the 605 south to Spring West then in the gate there just West of the freeway off ramp. That's the only way in in a car.

yeah if you are gonna drink ANYTHING make sure you do it in a paper or big gulp cup and hide the empties well... every public beach or park in So. Cal. is a no booze zone, so you gotta be cool. so mix some maragaritas or jungle juice up in your plastic gas can!

I'm in and I plan on bringing around 10-lbs of Carne Asada and my barbecue in the bed of my 42 PeeCup. This is the same recipe that I used to make the Carne Asada that I brought to Hootnanny. I'll even bring cheese and guacamole. My only question is...

Who is bringing the fresh flour tortillas? [IMG]

Hey - If me & Fonzi & Dr. J are going, the elder statesmen of the HAMB are well represented.

Regardless of that goofiness, this is gonna be so damn cool.

We may have to scare up some girlies though.

I'm bringing some pals & their cool rides too, but they're single guys. I'm a single guy, but I've got a cool girlfriend, so she'll be there. I just don't know if I can scare up a slew of single ladies...That's Fortier's territory.

Hey, Dr. J - You live in Long Beach, and you've got a pickup truck. How about you swing down LB Blvd. on your way over, and invest a few dollars in some of those sidewalk senoritas to bring? We'll consider it your "dish" and you won't have to bring any tortillas...

Seriously, I think this might end up being a sausage party, unless Courtney starts firing up his stripper conections...Hey Court - get Finnegan to bring his stable of girlies too! heh heh

    See ya then...

Okay, I probably should bring a couple full bottles of propane for the barbecue then too. I might be able to get Killer to come out and play...

I'll bring a pot of chili, can I warm it on your stove? I don't have one.

I see that Scotch is bringing 2 batches also.

See ya there. It'll be interesting to put faces and cars to the names.
