Hamber @rwrj has an evolving bit of Vintage Mechanical Speedster/Hotrod P***ion based on the rawness of Vintage Power and the joy it can provide when Ingenuity, Fresh Air, Grease and Eu de la Gas Fumes Waft over you face as your pressing to get around that curve... https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/shade-tree-model-a-speedster-kind-of-thing.1086809/ Credit to Videographer @rwrj
I know this isn't exactly up the HAMB alley, but it's just too good not to post. The video quality for 1962 is amazing, and the sound of squealing bias plies, never gets old. If the powers that be decide it's off topic, and it gets banished to the land of wind and ghosts, I promise not to harbor any ill will.
Just rolled through this 7 year old post. Almost as many blank videos as real videos. So I thought I would try dragging this thread around again. Here is a quick ride down the street in my V8 Corvair. Just as a note….my GoPro was mounted to the back window about 18 inches above the Lexan engine cover. That stuff works
.....Cool video, John. Much smoother than I would have anticipated. Did you add any weight to the front to counteract the additional weight of the V-8? Is there any "lightness" or front end "lift" at higher speeds? Been so long since I've seen the car and only moving as you were leaving the Mobtown Greaseball way back at the Dundalk Moose Lodge. I need to come visit your shop.
I put the 15 gallon fuel cell directly over the front suspension. It does get lite in the front when you jump on it. I used this video because my car has the wrong wheels on it and I didn’t want it to get removed again. Anytime you are up this way, I would be happy to have a visitor. As you know, most of my time is spoken for with chemo feeds and doctors visits but this too shall p***
