    Hello HAMB Alliance! Newbie here. I have recently pulled the trigger on a 1930-31 Ford Tudor. Frame is already updated with Ford 9 Inch and modern drop axle, Z'd about 8 inchs. It is a truck frame so its is 6 inch tall. Body has a 3 inch chop and is 3 inches over the frame. The previous owner started converting the doors to suicide. I will swap that back to original. I am thinking I will also loose the 3 inch channel. The forward body is pretty clean, has patching. The rear body section needs some love. Sub-frame needs repaired/replaced. Bottoms of fender wells need replaced. Rear cross member seems solid.
    I have a 24 bolt flatty that I am going to run in front of an OD automatic. I have no idea what my rear gear ratio is.
    So thats my intro...
    Looking for advice and parts;
    Going with a metal top. I have a van ribbed top sheet with cross members.
    ANY advice on this would be much appreciated.
    Parts list;
    Radiator shroud,
    Front top cross piece of cowl/roof that goes over windshield area,
    The two curved roof sections that are over the doors (with drip rail nailer holes),
    One narrow and the one wide bottom cross members on the floor that support the wood flooring,
    Inner fender skirts with clean bottoms,
    Good subframe rear sections.
    ANY advice that you deem pertinent...!!!
    I have found a lot of these parts online at sheet metal shops. Prefer vintage if I can find it.
    If your still reading, thank you for caring and concern.

    Ok FYI you have a late 1931 see the tear drop at the gas outlet that was late 31 or at less the fire wall is late.

    RIGHT ON! Everyday I learn something new!!! I did not get a ***le. Actually, the firewall did not come with the Tudor. The guy has a custom firewall that he gave me...I just have that picture of the original. My frame is a 6 inch truck frame?? Has the center drive shaft brace in it? Z'd at the back to accomodate a 1957-59 Ford 9Inch. I am having fun and learning a lot!
    Thanks for the input. This is my first rod build!

    Nice have fun doing it and take your time that's what I have learned. 6in frame sounds like the AA truck. I'm doing the same thing with a 1931 4 door and putting a V12 engine. Are you not going to use the 31 fire wall?

    I did not get the 31 firewall from the seller. He had removed it and sold it. He gave me a home built 3/16 plate steel piece which might work. I will cut a trans tunnel into it.
    Your V12 sounds way cool. What is the engine make?? I have a 24 head bolt Ford Flathead that I am going to use. I just like that look.
    My tudor body needs quite a bit of work yet. The rear subframe and rear lower side panels/wheel wells have a lot of thin metal and rust-out spots. Dollars to donuts, I would like to find a cleaner tudor body that needs less work. DO let me know if you have any leads on the same!! Either 1930 or 1931, as long as it is tudor, Vicky, or sedan delivery. Thanks for your input!

    I am in North Dakota working diligently to retire.
    Nice and interesting motor. How did you come across that??
    What does your friend consider pretty penny? what year is that tudor??
    Where are you finding parts for that Seagrave? Is that Seagrave a WW2 vintage?

    If you look at that Craigslist add I think it's 6k for it. I don't really know him just bought some parts off him. He lives in Lake havasu Arizona. I just happened to be in a machine shop and they had it they did all the machine work and the guy didn't pay so I got it. Parts are hard mostly back east and old fire guys.
