Hambers in Eastern Arkansas?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by guy with a wrench, Jun 8, 2005.

  1. Just found out today that I might be relocating to West Memphis Arkansas. Anyone from around that area? Any areas of interest for a fellow gearhead? Good shows or hangouts?

  2. Man, that's terrible! (just kidding)
Really? Who do you work for?
I manage the Goodyear Commercial Tire Center there, exit 280, I-40.

Memphis suburbs have all the cars. Not much goes on, except some Sonic cruise-ins during the summer, one local swap meet, and a couple of local runs put on by the different clubs. Lots of "street rods" and a few "hotrods"

There are several guys up around the Trumann-Jonesboro area, also.

Right now there's a vintage motorcycle exhibit going on at the Pyramid.

I presume that you know that W. Memphis is a pretty small burg. Marion, next door, is the "growing" town, with better schools, etc.

When your plans get fixed, PM me.

  3. I'm in Jonesboro. About an hour North of West Memphis. There is a lot of hot rod activity in this area. Vern Walker, the gent that owns Walker Radiator lives in the West Memphis area and there is an active car club in nearby Marion.

The Memphis Street Rod Club http://www.memphisstreetrods.com/ puts on a good show in Tunica in September. You can drive down from West Memphis in about 45 minutes. Well worth the drive.

  4. Thanks hotrod and biboveralls, I will probably be moving in a few months, work for 3m but my family is there and they need me home, thats the main reason for the move. If it all goes according to plan I will look you up, or you can just look for the loud rusted out caddy. :)

I'm in south east AR, but I'm very much looking into moving up that way though.
If I can find the right employment opportunity that is.
