    Can't keep good people down!

Thoughts and prayers to you both. So glad that it wasn't anything more serious in the way of injuries.

Megan and Matt my prayers go out for you . It was great meeting and talking to y'all at L'ville. I hope that every thing continues to go well for both of you. One of my childhood buddies had to have his spleen removed and he was mostly normal. Girl you are after my heart with your GMC, I wish you had kept the six, but hey its your ride. Get better and get that thing rolling. Give me a holler when you get ready to do the bed floor in that thing, we manufacture the strips and wood. Im sure you will get a good deal ;) . Jay

  9. Wow, glad to hear you and Matt are OK Megan.

I didn't get out of the building till 6 Sunday and some friends called back to tell me there was a problem on 71 and that it involved a street rod. The truckers got me around the accident on some real nice country roads (yes we still run a CB). Didn't get home till this morning and had a lot of unpacking to do but I was always thinking about the accident and hoping no one was seriously injured. So I just got on the HAMB and found this thread.

Good luck Matt and Megan and if you need anything from OBT let us know.

    Dennis and Sue

PS. To put a little irony into this thread, my daughter called from the airport to tell us about the accident. Where did she hear about it? She was on the flight with Mickey, Barbara and Jim from Total. How did they hear about it? From the guys driving their truck/trailer back to Connecticut. It's a small world we live in!

A miraculous outcome to what certainly had the potential to be a tragic event.
I hope the post-accident good fortune continues and sees everyone back to cruising in perfect health.

About to hit the interstat by roadster, I'll be thinking about this event a lot.

This should about wrap up the news about Megan tonight. Hopefully very soon it will be Megan who will be typing the finale to this long post.
Almost 16,500 views, I would have never imagined the response, concern and love expressed from Hambers around the world.
Since I have been the main pipeline on this very scary news. I feel the need to also thank all of you. Especially for your prayers.
All of us who had been involved in building this vehicle felt a responsibility to this accident regardless of whether it was by our hand or not.
Its easy to set back and say that your glad it held intact against the impact but you are always going to question what was missed even if it was out of our hands.
Bottom line.... as Matt had stated a few days ago..
We chose this sport-hobby-lifestyle. As with any sport there are calculated risks. When we take a 60-80 year old car and or parts and put it on the road we have accepted that risk.
Just like the Bikers say... Live to ride ..or some of us may say ..live to build.

    Back to Megan...
I talked to Matt this evening and I could tell by the tone in his voice he was much relieved before I heard the words.
Megan is off of her heavy pain medication today and has spent some time up although only a few minutes at a time. Her spleen is healing very well and they cut back on the amount of tests she has to undergo for it.
She has finally began eating... they must have tired of her good nature. :)
She will not be able to ride in a car for her release this Saturday but friends are bringing in an Rv so she will be comfy and able to lie flat during the 6-hour ride home. All I can say is Amen.
    T- Bucket ????
Megan said, “ We better put that thing back together the way it belongs.
"She's got some riding and driving to do."

I wouldn't have expected any less from this girl.
PJ out for good. "Long live the Traditional T and Megan"

Any accident is bad news and even worse if a family member or friend. I also drive a roadster and think about what could happen.
Its always nice to know that the family of Hambers really do care and respond with prayers and words of kindness. I also will send prayers out. In these times we need as much help as we can get.

Over the last few days I've found myself checking this thread time and time again. My concern has even rubbed off on people around me and now they are asking for updates. I'm glad I can constantly give them positive reports.

I'll continue to keep Megan and Matt in my thoughts.

Megan, Im thrilled to hear you are recovering at a good pace. I think your tougher than I am. If I was in your position I would probably be whining like a baby. Anyways, your one of the coolest, and I hate seeing something like this happen to you but thankfully things weren't worse. Next year maybe ill have my T at the nationals and I can give you a ride in it.:) Take care of yourself, if theres anything I can do for you, just let me know.

Matt, your a great guy. Its a pleasure calling you a friend. Hopefully ill see you around sooner than in august of 07.

PeteJoe, we missed you at the nationals...Hopefully Ill see you around sometime soon too.

That's great that she's out of the woods and feeling better!

Any update on what locked up? Kinda has me worried, would not want something similar to happen again.

Ive been watching this post daily and Im very glad she is Ok and will be going home soon. I would also like to know what happened to the car that caused the problem. I was wondering what kind of shifter was in the T and what is the chance that she could have hit a bump and it jumped gears either a downshift or jumped into reverse or park?? I would like to commend every one that had a hand in building this car because it held up like it did. I sent Total performance a message thanking them also for building a safe body and frame package. Get well soon and someone please get a Hamb thrash going to get both of Matts cars back on the road.
