I guess it is time to announce the Cruis'n Anderson event in Anderson, Indiana. Again this year I will be putting on a panel jam from noon til 4 PM or till we are finished. We had lots of fun last year and raised some money for the Wilson's Boys and Girls Club. It is July 16, in downtown Anderson. The center of the action will be at the park on 12th and Meridian St. This year they have given me 12th Street from Meridian St. to Main St. (one block) so we will be right in the middle of it, only across the street. Last year we had approx. 250 cars. It is slightly different this year; the entry fee has been lowered to $5.00 (pin stripers are free), and the event starts at 11:00 AM and runs till 10:00 PM (all downtown this year). There will be intertainment all day (bands) and food vendors set up. I would love to see some HAMB'ers here. A little history here. Anderson is struggling, General Motors has left town and torn down their plants so the tax money is not here anymore. No industry has moved in so it is tough on the young people. The Boys and Girls club used to get support from the United Way but that has dropped considerably so they are struggling too. I got involved a couple of years ago to help out, this is the 3rd year for the event. The city is behind it 100%. Funny how this works, they didn't used to want to talk to us, now they will do everything they can to help us. I am not a politician, but sometimes I would like to be the mayor. BTT. I would love to be there Steve BUT.......it is a little too far for a 1 day deal. Glad to see someone trying to help.........you are to be commended. Good things happen to good folks...... .
I would really like to see you here, but I know it is a long drive for you. I hope I can get some of the Indiana HAMB'ers to come. You make me sound like a do-gooder but my real motovation was to help with an event here in town. Probably like you I try not to go events put on by some shameless promoter looking to make a fat pay check. There are exceptions though. When an event is to help some cause it makes the entry fee more bareable and I am glad I am able to help.
Hey Steve, you got any flyers I can hand out?? I would be more than happy to help you get the word out. I can help you get some p***ed out at some of the events around Indy. I'll try to be there and get the word p***ed to the club members.
Steve, Any cutoff date for vehicles? I will try to get some support for you. Sounds like a worthwhile cause. Someone already asked, do you have Flyers?
Yes, I have fliers and there is no year cutoff. I will bring a bunch of them to Indy GoodGuys. If you PM me your address I will mail you some. If you know any stripers that might be interested have them get in touch with me. My number is 765-378-0796.
