    Some of older roof and floor joists in Pgh. area are Douglas fir. I haven't done any home remodeling lately, but I remember buying 2"x12"s out of it.

    Gimpy: Modesto Steel has it, 4' X 8' sheet of 18 ga. is under $80, I picked one up in my F100. (45 miles from here)
    The owner is a rod builder, ('56 F100 and '32 three window) Just ask for Donald.

    Now, how can you find that steel in CA. but not not in steel country like Cleveland and Pgh.?
