Good post guys! Great for reference.

Darin (killer-D) Great work as always.

Here is some from both My dad and I.

The Champlin oil truck is an original, it belongs to my Brother-in-law Chuck Craver, as with the "Craver Bros." hot rods truck, that was the "Cold Iron" truck..

Since we started doin these we have "Redone" a lot of them! Everytime one sells, the new owner brings it back to us to make it his... Fine with u$.

While not necessarily about actual lettering, chack some model railroad sites regarding weathering of Model RR components. Some of the techniques and materials may directly transfer to your desired look. Use of charcoals, pastels, chalk, paint washes, and other procedures may help.

Great thread and great work! I love lettering, i **** at it but I love it. Do you guys just wing it when it comes to the style of lettering you are going to use for any particular job, I mean is the type of font coming from your imaginations or a book or ? Just curious I always struggle when it comes to lettering design. Did'nt mean to highjack the thread. Thanks guys! Chad

Here's a website a buddy of mine found. His is the REO by Thomas Cane. Billy the Kid and I found the green AD Chevy truck that I posted up there but it was so far gone the only thing worth having to me was the chrome on the windshield. I've just dug the doors for my son's truck out of the barn loft so we can get them up at some point. It was for a plumbing company out of Dayton Ohio and has the 5 digit phone number on the doors and was on the back of the cab but that's about gone now.

Looks like a few of the pictures here are on this site as well. Contributed by Joseph Walker in August.
