hand or foot brake?

Discussion in 'HA/GR' started by sgtlethargic, Sep 29, 2007.

  1. Are HA/GR's using hand and/or foot brakes?

We're running both on ours as well.

  4. We've got a bit of both, some foot operated, some hand operated, and yes, some with a regular foot operation & handbrake for startline use....

    Cheers,

2b-banjo and cowboy Bob have handbrake only. It takes a very little getting used to, it gets quite natural, but you have to put in what you feel safe with.
The first day that we fired 2b up and drove it into the garage it was a little scary trying to figure out that there was no brake pedal. I then sat in the car going thriugh the motions and after that no problem. I really don't have room for a pedal.

I kept the left side emergency brake cable, and put a lever on it and use it to stage at the starting line, I use a foot brake in the traditional place, with the hand brake I don't have to heal and toe for staging. The reason for the main brake is that in a emergency I don't have to turn loose of the steering wheel with one hand to grab the brakes. This car is a pure HA/GR, I run it in Tulsa. U can see the car in the photo section, on the Tulsa Raceway Park web site, it is the white car with the roadrunner on the side. Check the photo's for Sept. 15. Just asking how many cars are being built that we know of?
