My dad took us to the Avoca Iowa fairgrounds in about 1951 to see chitwood . They used new 1950 fords. Will never forget that. Happy fourth of July and celebrate our wonderful country !
Yep, Happy 4th everyone. When I think of the 4th, it is a reminder of my grandmother that had the 4th as her birthday. She would have been 102 this year and was as “American Pie” as they come being married to my grandpa that was a WWII vet as well. Anyway, on the hot rod topic of the day, one of my favorite cars at the Midway Drags in 2021.
Happy Independence Day,! This year my black 28A Bobtail hotrod is in the garage and engine on the stand getting rebuilt,so I will not make it too one of my fav. shows all year. My buddy Mark{32 Red Betty roadster}is good at just snapping photos, not planned, just what ever pops up. He gave me one from our 4th July show,7 years back,it's my fav. shot of my Beer Keg gas tank ever!!
Me (L) and a friend, with help from the US Marines, honoring our Rev War Patriot ancestors, as Sons of the American Revolution. Without their sacrifices we would not have the freedoms we enjoy today.
Baseball.......hot dogs........apple pie .........and CHEVROLET ! Happy July 4th to one and all in our great country.
