Good ol' Frank... He would have been 71 years old today. We lost him earlier this year and the void he left is vast !.... He helped keep the spark alive for a lot of us here in Michigan,.... A lot of us talked about him last weekend at the Midland Show /swap meet.... It just don't feel the same sense he's been gone. Frank kind of adopted a punk he met here on the HAMB.... A cocky kid with a Model A sedan,... But he really is a good kid.... He mentored him, helped him, encouraged him, and this kid, slowly, but progressively became "One of Frank's family"..... On our trip to PA. Frank talked a lot about him,... As well as his natural son and daughter and of coarse the love of his life,... His lovely wife Sharon. As it turned out, there was only one guy on earth that Frank would have wanted peering out the windshield of his chopped Deuce if he couldn't be there..... And as things turned out, That punk that Frank adopted all those years ago,... Wrapped his hands around the steering wheel,... And as Frank would have wanted..... Flogged the crap out of it today ! Making the Deuce preform to the capabilities Frank made it to live at..... I wish I could have been there.. In a way, I guess ringing out the old Deuce is exactly how Frank would have wanted the Punk to celebrate his Birthday...... Some of us Hot Rod guys have a hard time expressing emotion, and coming to grips with our grief..... Somehow I think the rising RPM's of a snotty engine, and the emerging smoke from the rear tires of a car that was built by the one we are missing,......... Is something non car people will never understand,..... But the ultimate therapy..... Happy Birthday Frank !...... You are missed more than words can express.... "Rest Easy" my friend.... All is well.
Frank was the real deal. Tuff as nails w/ a heart to match. If he was closer back when, I would have shoveled that snow/mowed that yard, swept that shop for free.
Frank was truly one of the nicest guys,he always had something nice to say and never posted anything negative about his fellow Hamb members. He was also very knowledgeable about Deuces,a subject he was enthusiastic & passionate about.
I miss him bad....such a wealth of info. I'm also really happy Scott has his car. Frank is smiling down right now. Happy bday...
yep....he was smiling down at the kid today.....rest easy on our shoulders Frank....and take the ride with us.....
Frank is definitely missed. He was a local legend up in our area. I had lunch with him damn near every Friday for the past several years before his passing. Never a dull moment or a boring conversation. I'm so glad Frank's sedan went to Scott. The car couldn't have found a better home. .
I'm hoping this thread does not get deleted..I wished Denise a happy birthday and moderator sent me a message to use facebook for social greetings, and he deleted the thread
Had the pleasure of laying some lines on Frank's sedan.Had also made him one of my faux plates but for some reason cannot find a picture of it in my files. It was a purple Louisiana plate and said FAB32. We went to a meet and greet at Tony's Diner in Birch Run many years ago where I first met Frank and among the day's activities was a tour of his garage. That was an adventure I won't ever forget..Aside from the vast array of machinery(all of which saw use by him) was his collection of 32 Ford grille shells lining the walls. He could have sold off one a week and lived very comfortably. I always looked forward to seeing him and Rich(Fuel Pump) at the Frankenmuth show each year and trading war stories. The place is just not the same without him.RIP my friend;we all miss ya.
Frank was a BIG part of the Hamb and left Big shoes to fill, along with numerous other members that departed too soon. Doesn't hurt anything and we did it for many years,I've learned to send the people I want to say Birthday greetings to a PM,the only problem with that is there seems to be a limit on listed birthdays on the main page. This thread may get deleted but shame on the moderator that sees fit to pull the plug. HRP
Denise was the first Hamber to welcome me to the site, she has always been a class act, fortunately she is still around. HRP
Denise and Megan had dinner with me at the Lonestar Roundup..They both are #1 girls...just wish they had more time for posting now
