    Hello,

I've searched and looked up stuff on this forum for years. I've recently purchased a 1963 Mercury 400 (Monterey) that I am looking forward to getting back on the road so figured it's time to start posting too.

Hi & welcome. Keep us updated as work progresses. From your photo you are no where me in Texas. If they use salt on those roads with the snow pay good attention to everything on the bottom end.
    Good luck, Jim

Thanks Jim. The Merc will be going up on a lift soon for a thorough inspection but from what I could see laying in the snow it is pretty solid on the under side.

It’s almost ready for the road tests to begin. Exhaust and tires and it’s ready for summer. The stock manifolds were in bad shape, so they are getting replaced with some stainless budget friendly headers.

Big in size for sure. But it’s in pretty solid shape all things considered.

Officially got it on the road for the weekend, so far it runs really well. The power brake booster has a vacuum leak which is making it idle rough in stop and go traffic. So that’s something I need to fix.

Would I be able to just byp*** the booster and have manual brakes for the time being?
