I believe that you get what you pay for. I bought one, had a 20% off coupon, so I think I have $80 bucks in it. It works GREAT for what I needed. If you want to do detail wok though, there is nothing like a gas shielded mig, but for floor pans and such - this one works. Be cautious on body panels.. It is touchy, and can be the best $90 plasma cutter you ever bought.
ahaha, how true. Actually i used a stick welder as a cutter a few years ago b4 i bought my plasma set up.
Well not everyone uses there "HAMB" friendly car for everything, pretty sure theres alot of people on here who have another car! Also why would the "lexus" be acceptable then? JimV
I just listed my Chicago Electric 90 amp flux core welder on Craigslist. I've enjoyed it and I still say it's a great little welder for the money. Maybe not the ideal thing for building hot rods and race cars, but it is a nice utility welder. Great for making brackets and exhuast work but I was hesitant to use it on sheet metal though it can be done (or so I've read). Now I've moved on to something I can run smaller wire thru for sheet metal work. A Hobart Handler 140...$503 on ebay with free shipping. And that's new not a reconditioned.
I have one, I also have a hobart beta mig 200. I still use the hf for lots of jobs the only problem I had was erratic wire feed I fixed that by adding a spring to the wire feed mechanism.
flux wire welders do not produce a good clean neat weld I have a hobart I paid 300 dollars for it uses argon gas which gives you a great weld Ive been welding for 40+ years
