Bought one earlier this year to shoot the primer on a truck bed for my OTDD. Worked like a champ. Chickened out when it came time to shoot the color (SS). Reverted to my 'good' gun, a 20+yr old #7 swapmeet knock-off. :D HF gun worked fine, I'm just not used to the cup being 'up there'. Hell, for $10 a pop, everybody ought to have one.

All of my guns are bottom feed siphons. They are great guns and I get the desired results. My guns are probably 40 years old. One is a Binks (my color gun) and the other Devilbliss is my primer gun. Been reading now for what ten years or so about the benefits of HVLP guns and wanted to experiment before making the plunge into a big dollar gun(s). If it's true that I use less material than I will buy up. I bought this one today and will see how it works before buying an upgrade. Can't beat that price.

I just use the Northern tools Vaper gun for the 2k. Its got a 2.3. It'll shoot the high build too if thats your flavor.

  4. You can open the tips up, no problem. You can't make them smaller. :D:D
After you open them you can save the opened up ones before you throw them away. Get a tip assortment collection going.

Travel off the tech sheet very far and its begging for trouble.

  5. I do all my paint jobs with them. Clear, color, epoxy, poly primer, everything. They sell a large tip/needle set for the heavy stuff. Have to order it on-line. Really happy with the results, but then I am not a great painter and have never used a $$$$$$$$$$$$ one so maybe ignorance is bliss. Most recent job was my Mysterion clone; white epoxy primer, white urethane pearl, lime gold candy, several clear. Came out great.

A friend of mine uses these exclusively with very good results. He bought the warranty and then just gets a new one every time he needs to do a paint job, never even bothers cleaning them. Now even though this would probably not pass the ethics class at your local community college neither would offshoring the manufacturing jobs that used to make those types of items in the US. But that's another rant.
