There were over 1 million Mustangs made from 64-66. Donating some parts to a hot rod won't prevent an enthusiast from getting their car restored/repaired.

Don't trust me though, haha... nothing is sacred. I have trimmed a 1936 roadster waterfall to fit my standard 35-36 dash (which is also modified), 32 wishbone into batwings, and a number of other parts that worked well for my needs.

It's neat putting some older steel into this project.

I love all your detailed pics. Keep up the tremendous work.

Love the Henry Ford sheet metal, irrespective of source. And the hard chop. Badass.

With how many coupe to fastback conversions there are going on, I assumed you got the roof section from one of those guys. There were way too many Mustangs made to get worked up over that. Long while back my brother got a beater 6 cyl coupe in trade for a gun scope and we proceeded to abuse that poor thing to death. Yeah, I've killed a few cars. It happens.

Got to ask what market value is on a gun scope, sounds like a great trade.

I've done 3 deuces with a Walden top insert trimmed to fit, covered with black Mercedes top material and bolted to the top wood. No trim around the edge, makes a clean top insert.

Just fine trimming the roof insert.

Thank you for all the work in sharing your work.
You made it seem easy, but...I know it’s not your first one.

  13. Bored and stroked flathead on nitro should have the sound I’m looking for.

  15. Oh My! This just got a lot more interesting! I just got a Nose Hit from memory, then my eyes started watering. By all means don't stop now.

$42 in 1977. It was one of my better deals.

Amazing metal work. What are you doing with the fuel filler dimple in the rear panel?

    I’m going for a late 40’s build.

  19. After seeing how much thought went into your project before the first cut should make some people realize that a top chop is not just a chop and drop. You took the time and effort to do it your way, and the finish result should make you proud. When and if, you display your car consider putting a scrap book with the car to show what was involved to get that configuration. Most people would appreciate your work. I know that I do.

I like the fact that you stained the woodwork, guess there won't be any extra upholstery going in there. Bob

  23. I burned the wood to get the weathered look. Too hard to stain it with the sealer Brookville uses to preserve it.

    no interior

The chicken wire and padding is another nice detail with the filled roof. Sound and heat proofing to some degree. I would think

Wondering if there has been any updates on this fine hot rod lately.

  26. Still waiting on doors from brookville. As soon as I get them, I will go back on the chop work. I’ve been working on the flathead which snowballed into a bored and stroked custom build. It will be the most expensive weakest engine I ever built. But this car is all about the look and sound. Stay tuned
