Here’s my little interior door panel/pull.

Mocking up the outer door skin. I marked where to cut

then cut it and coped out for the hinges. Then cut in the middle of the upper hinge for the rejoining seam. 1F5D8042-9550-4D87-B847-05E0F6BFBFDC.jpeg

Beautiful build, nicely detailed for us following. Scary to think all the hours you have put into this build. I am sure your skills make it go lot quicker then some of us amateurs

May need to tweak it once I get the window felt and channel. I have to modify the lower glass stops so I don’t roll the windows down any more than needed.

Bob’s classic auto glass in Oregon will cut my glass. He’s been very helpful.

getting close to having fully functional doors.

  7. I need to know more about this Bob's Classic glass company. Where's he at and a ph# please.

Working on the outer skin now that the inner structure is done with working window and Nader/X-brace for strength and safety.

with the inner door skin scribed and trimmed to 1/4 “ of the body opening, I then rough trimmed the outer door skin to the door. Next I pinned it on.
Then adjust the door gaps with a hammer and dolly before folding over the edge. That will be last part of building doors.

This has been fascinating to be able to watch. Way above my skill level and pockets!
I do have a question about this next step. I see that everything is done in bare metal and is finished to that point and fine tuned. Would priming or sealing all these inner surfaces be better before the skin is formed over the inner?
I know that there are a couple places that are going to be subject to welding heat after.
Not questioning the work and I doubt the car is going to be sat outside in the weather 24/7, just wondering.

The outer skin is only pinned to the inner door structure. Once the outer skin is fitted and tacked together, I will take it off to weld it and metal finish the skin.
Then I will prime seal the inside of the door and put a piece of dynamat to the inside of the door skin.
Follow along and you will see the full process soon.

Now onto the outer door top.
I can’t stress enough how important it is to plan your cuts to avoid extra work or corners that just don’t flow.

I will show another way of doing the same thing.

I cut a slice into the front edge to change the pitch to match the laid back windshield. I will seam the back area in the middle of the upper hinge. Trim close and then Dykem the overlap in order to scribe a perfect cut.

Here is the completed inner door. I even filled the middle hinge like I did on the jamb. I coated the inside of both panels satin black and put dynamat on the out skin to muffle the metallic sound of the door. Some more door details

and with the one piece 2” longer hood. With the correct 5.00x16 front ribbed tires and 7.50x16 rear tires and at full weight, it should have the stance I’m going for. IMG_7229.jpeg IMG_7232.jpeg IMG_7239.jpeg IMG_7267.jpeg IMG_7286.jpeg

Longer hood needed a narrower grille shell, correct?

nope. It’s a custom made hood using the stock grill shell.

Thankful for generous use of your time to share all of your methods through pics and descriptions! All I have been hearing from all my grandkids is what they are thankful for. I try to explain that I am thankful for the pros on the HAMB who take the time educate us but I don’t think my grandkids understand. Very cool hot rod - way above my skill level - but very appreciative of your time to share. Absolutely beautiful

Wicked cool, my friend! You nailed the chop and stance. As others have said, THANKS for the awesome coverage on this build. Me living just up the road frome you in Crete, I'll keep an eye out for the end product when it's finished...but, then again, are they EVER actually finished??
