I think these types of shows are starting to look at the personalities more. When you see them week in and week out, I think it's cool to see behind the scenes.

Sarah (S***) it's great that you chimed into this thread. If you really want to learn about this great hobby (obsession for some of us) then you are in the right place. The deuce guys here know their stuff and will steer you in the right direction. I keep seeing you with Tig torch in hand on the show but have yet to see something you've built. I hope we get to see something before the show's over.

    All the best.

Thanks for the reply Sarah. Your father certainly collected some amazing cars. That T-roadster has got to have a lot of history. Like Pete said, don't do anything other than clean it off, and don't even do much of that. That 3-window looks like it's ready for a motor, drop one in and drive it. It's cool so see this kind of stuff appreciated.

    Sarah,
Did your dad ever race the drag car,or did he find it somewhere? I wouldn't ever sell them either. You can't buy sentimental value! The things I have from my dad,and some of my mom's antiques, are priceless to me! If you sold those, gaurantee you would regret it. Good to see you getting a chance to get dirty. Loved it when you told Jimmy "I can handle it!". That was cl***ic. FIGHT ON!

  8. well now how the tides change..

i was going to tune out when they said lets go see
"my dads ...baby".... walkin to a shed surrounded by vws and windchimes...
but nooooooo its got a 32 3 window ol drag diggers b-ville cars and...more
even Pete C. is w/o out the proper answers and appeared just flumoxed...
now a drama show with all the drama thrown out may be gettin more interestin...
of co**** this was all a set up for us in such a way that we are gonna wanna know more.....
lets call it a cliff hanger..

will Shine fire her any way and keep her/cars for future work?
will P.C help her get the ol stuff out and in the public?
wiil gnomes replace tikis and skulls?
can we get this into a 1 hour show so we can see more drama bits from last weeks show or the two before that?

sad in away that this style of rodding is becoming too mainstream...

i hope young girls/guys all don't wanna be like this at***ude wise :)

I'd be willing to bet the Gnome thing was the producers idea. When i've been involved with the studios, they throw **** in for effect. It would **** if Dave has to put up with that **** from now on. I wouldn't appreciate it. They say the bathroom camera is "unscripted" ,but they can edit it to look anyway they want. He might have laughed it off,and that part got cut out...who knows!

S***, I didn't get to see the show. You have some great memories and will be able build some fine stuff. Try doing some searches on here, and read the threads of Scottybaccus, Squirrel, Brianangus and other good builders. As to media hype, staged B.S. etc, most of the folks here see thru it, and will help you out too.

I am not going to offer anything on the shows content, I just want to say the thing that amazes me the most about this hobby is the amount of stuff stuck back and saved.
There is not a week goes by I don't run across some cool old ride in a garage or barn or backyard ,sometimes within a few blocks of my house.
And S***,I am jealous as hell ,not of the cars but because my daughters could care less about anything I have in my garage.I'm sure it will be crushed before I'm even cold.

    Hey S***,
How about some details of what your going to do with the Deuce, like driveline, style, are you going to run the Kelsey's ?,....... I have built 4, chopped, full fendered, deuce 3/W in the past ( and am building one now) because I just love the look.

To those that have said Pete was a sell out, I would like to know what you mean by that, because I feel you are dead wrong.

One last thing, S*** I very impressed with your p***ion for Hot Rods and your ability,...... But "Respect is earned",..... (IMHO)

Im a little confused, maybe Ryan could explain, why they block talk about TV car shows. When I saw the show for the first time I was excited.I submitted a post asking what everyone thought of the show. I think it was blocked. Im not sure what the difference is? I Do not want to start any **** or piss anyone off Just wondering.
    thanks Chuck

you probably didn't do anything wrong, but on threads like that, everyone starts taking side as to hating or loving it and it really doesn't accomplish anything; think of the boyd coddinton, gas monkey garage, jesse james, rat rods, etc. type threads.......there are just certain subjects that seem to instantly send threads into a downward spiral..

that's why the starter of this thread prefaced it with something like what he did

  19. was it just me or did the so cal roadster nose over like a mother #$%ker!
that happens a lot when you take your foot off the gas pedal in the middle of a race.
    spare me.....what a load of **** that"race" was.

  20. You see guy's it's the old guys that are the coolest! I think Pete made that show. Rags

Well...unfortunately that can be placed on my shoulders I guess...although you didn't read what I said very well. I said I THOUGHT he was! Past tense.
Here it is again...don't think I gave the guy a black eye or anything. :)

    Quote...
"I'm liking Pete more and more. Thought he was a sell out to tell the truth...but now I don't feel that way at all just seeing him in action.
He's cooler than the Shinester in my book...no posturing, just a love for what he does without the drama.
The guy wore a dress on TV and didn't look like an idiot for doing it...
Not many can pull that off!" ...Unquote

WHY did I think he was a sellout???
Doesn't matter...because if you stop to read my quote you'll see that I now feel I was totally WRONG to think that way, and I freely admit it. ;)

i agree with you on that he really let off the gas so the 57 would win that one , it was said the 32 has a nasty 383 in it . and the 57 has a 327 and a bunch more weight ....

Any speculation on what was used for a transmission/rearend? I've been toying with a mid-engined project idea. When I saw engine behind the driver on the show, it caught my interest.

Found a feature on this car in an old RnC, I think 1964, the one with a red '34 fordor on the cover. Looks pretty much the same but without the scoop on top.

I know the original owner/builder of this car. He now lives in the Dallas, TX area. He called me to tell me that they found his old car, he was so excited to learn it was still around. So after speaking to B*** about it he mentioned that it was posted on the HAMB. Words can not explain the excitement this has brought to an original Hot Rodder.....

See what I can do about getting some info on the original build..

    Thanks for the post

the car was originally built with a flathead running a Scott Blower and a quickchange. His intentions was to build the car to run the Saltflats. A couple of issues got in the way that prevented him from running at the salts. So he decided to drag race the car.The car then was changed and ran a Dodge 272 Hemi with an in and out box. He was only able to drag the car twice. The car was shown a couple of years on the show circuit. Car was painted by a buddy of his with spare left over candy paint. If any other pics come available of this car please forward them on, so that they can be shared with the guy.
