Hard weekend ! We had to put our little Buddy Petey to sleep on Thursday. Emma is having a hard time without her big brother . We are comforted in the the belief that we will see him again one day. Wow thirteen years goes FAST ! We are thinking about finding Emma a new big brother or sister through the Boston Terrier rescue. or The dachshund rescue. Well I am going to take Emma for a ride in Lucy . Thanks for letting me Share my grief with You all .

    Rest in Peace Petey!

I know that was a tough choice to make. We have 3 miniature Dachshunds, the oldest being 14 years old this winter. He had back surgery when he was 5, doing great now! Dreading the day that is ultimatly ahead of us... Very sorry about your loss!

Very sorry to hear about your little buddy. Sounds like he had a nice long life. Please be sure to rescue an animal. My girlfriend works for a no kill shelter and it is very tough to see so many abandoned and unwanted animals who need homes.

    Tobey ,
I am so very sorry to hear about the terrible news ! I am going to have to do the same thing to my dog here before long . I am lucky that GOD has given us another 5+ weeks with him and he is still hanging in there pretty well . His 12 year old birthday is July 1st and I am thinking he is going for that birthday bash before he calls it quits .I know the end is coming very soon but he is i no pain and happy as he always is ! We are just going one day at a time and enjoying every minute with my little buddy !
Do what I did and go out and get another pet ! They are there to hold and love and will help with the pain . Just stay busy as possible to keep your mind away from your loss .
Hang in there and if you need someone to talk with just send me an email to - jims55hotrod@comcast.net
