Brought my new project car home, a car I've been lusting after for a while. A '46 Chevy two door sedan. I've always loved these cars, decked out with fender stainless, full skirts and sun visors. Aeroman's post a few weeks ago got me drooling to get one for myself, and then this one came along. The car came with a truckload+ of extra parts, including another engine, full wheelskirts and a cherry Fulton visor. It runs and drives (not roadable yet) and it's very complete and fairly solid, there was no escaping it for $1000 There is nothing I'd like to do more than tear into this car with full force. Problem is, I've got a lot of other things I need to do first. I've got to finish up cleaning my parking lot, my house and my shop need paint, my '40 Chrysler needs the final details worked out and I've got a '26 T roadster half stripped that needs to be blasted and prepped for paint. It's tearing me apart inside to know that I won't be able to touch this car for at least another month or two. I need to finish my other projects up first, period. Oh well, I guess it's a "good problem" to have. Here's some pics.
Welcome to the real world. The car will keep. Other **** comes first. I've always had a soft spot for '40's Chevs'.
You only have a month or two's worth of projects? What a lucky guy! I have enough to go well into my next lifetime at the rate I work on at home projects.
I hear that. A month or two is probably wishful thinking, it'll probably take me until the snow flies to finish up the stuff I need to do. I guess I just need to quit my *****ing and get out into the shop and finish what I started. Couple more threads I want to read, then I'll get out there and get started.
