On a lighter note but tough to do was to sell 2 potential projects for scrap because of my health. I now have one project that I will finish, good lord willing.

  7. First off- My oppoligies for your loss. I've been in your shoes, and it will make your head race like nothing before. I had my my father sitting next to me at my mothers service, but when I was sitting by myself, and actually stood up and spoke,I would say that was the HARDEST thing i've ever done. Everything ever since then is childs play. I wish you the best, and be strong. My hearts out to ya.

I've been there bro...my condolences. It's been 8 years for me and though I don't think of him quite as much, there are always moments that catch me off guard and choke me up. Hang in there...it'll be rough these first couple years, but you'll learn to accept it...

  10. So sorry to hear about your loss - I haven't lost my dad but I did lose my grandfather who taught me just about everything I know vehicle wise. It'll be 11 years in November. I can't imagine what you're going through now. Prayers to you and your family. STAY STRONG

A little different but my mother passed on july 1st. She always wanted a 1959 cadillac. Me & my brother located one and began a cosmetic restoration. Every year I would improve or fix something on the car. I cussed that car out more than any car of my own. However, I knew every time I drove that car out of her garage she had tears in her eyes. BTW, she never did drive the car. She was happy just knowing it was in her garage. I drve the car to shows & boy was she proud when it would get an occassional trophy! This year I got the car out for the first time this year on the day of her funeral. The stupid car ran perfectly after sitting all winter (which I swear never happened in the 22 years we have owned the car). I knew she was happy to see her car one last time. Rest in peace Mother and thanks for putting up with us grease-monkey kids!

Thank you everyone for the kind words.....it was a lot better than I could have imagined. He was a well liked man and had many friends. The honor guard did a wonderful 21 gun salute and I wish to thank anyone who has served and ask anyone with a spare buck to donate to the V.F.W. I cannot express enough thanks to the men and women that give there time to honor fellow Vets. Thank you all again.

Hang in there I will say good by to my brother Wednesday. I know how you feel.

  18. Hang in there, it gets better. It has been over 31 years since I lost my dad. He was not a car guy, but I still have the first new car he ever bought, it was my first car and the start of a lifelong love of Model A's. I still have him in my heart and ask myself now and then what would he think about actions I am considering.

  21. Sorry for your loss... Been 9 years and think about him every day. Just today my wife me and two close friends sat on the very site where we scattered his ashes on the beach in North Myrtle Beach. It was his favorite place.
