This one is on my brother's 49 Ford coupe. He got it a couple of years back, could not believe that it was not already taken.

The bumper guard is from an Australian 57 Holden. The down under plates are quite a bit longer than US ones.

On it. Queensland Transport have been trying to conficscate them after someone complained. They haven't got them yet.

    Cheers, Glen.

I got this one right after Md. started the program. They notified you by mail and you had to go to Glen Burnie to pick them up. I gave the letter to the lady behind the counter along with several other people. I got a chuckle when a few minutes later the lady returned and shouted out to the group Mr. Beater? Mr beater? I just raised my hand and got the plates. I was told later that they were not supposed to do this on historic plates.

About a year ago I noticed the MD. plate HOTROD. It was on a freakin' 87 midsized SW. There ought to be a law against that!!

A friend had a 31 Ford Vicky many years ago. A girl on the eastern shore threatened to call the police if he didn't quit pestering her about getting that plate.:D

When personalized plates first became available in Alberta (back in '84:)....I went in the very first day about 10:00AM, and plunked down my $$ and ordered "2FAST4U"....(still have the plates:) A friend being a lazy ass night owl slept untill noon, then walked in & tried to order "BOSS429".....was pretty choked that someone had scooped him:rolleyes:
...anyways, he ended up settling for "SHOTGUN".
I read some weeks later in the paper about some that had been denied....the one that sticks in my memory was "IB6UB9":D
Whats even funnier is that at the yearly spring car show EDMONTON POWERAMA las April, there was some vendor with a booth selling plastic replicas of ALBERTA plates, and hanging on the display was a plastic version of my plate!! .....should have seen the look on his face when I told him I had the REAL ones at home!!

brother in law runs "TEAZE ME" on his big block model A. some folks still don't understand it.

  30. I just painted a roadster with NM plate "RAINSUX" :really:

I used to have Louisiana plate "TOPLESB" on my MGB.
Was awesome, back when you could actually drive in the French Quarter. ;)

Somewhere there is a Oklahoma "AIRSHOW" plate on a golfcart. ;)
