I am thinking about hardtopping my 54, I was wondering if anyone knows how to make the chrome molding that goes around the glass and the reshaped vent window.

  2. you could make it from mild steel channel-1/2"then plate it.
I'd make the quarter window a completely framed unit that will slid into plac and be removeable.[like Hirahota Merc]

Thats what I had planed on making a full framed slide in quarter window I am just wondering how to shape the C-channel, my brother said it can be done with a shrinker, but where do I find one?

  4. If you go to your local metal machine shop, there is a "3-roller" type tubing bender for making fence garnish and stuff. this will work for what you want and get the radius you need. You can do it the old fashion way and mock up a pattern and heat and bend [IMG] [IMG]
