The local Harley dealership has a couple of bikes equipped with this setup. They use them for demonstrating bikes to potential buyers with limited riding experience and/or people who have trouble balancing an 800 lb. bike. I was at a Goldwing rally several years ago striping and saw a very unique setup on a bike there. The gentleman who owned the bike was in his mid-70's and had a lot of problems with his legs;specifically his knees. He wasn't able to support a bike when it was stopped and refused to get a trike(I don't blame him;I don't like them either). This setup used a set of wheels that were electrically lowered when coming to a stop. They stored in the bottom part of the saddlebags and were barely visible when retracted. As soon as the bike started moving, you pushed a ****on on the handlebars and the wheels retracted pretty quickly. They were set up so the bike leaned slightly to either side and when moving with the bike upright didn't contact the ground. I don't know who made them but they were a nice idea and allowed someone who had been riding for more than 50 years a chance to keep enjoying himself.
