Hey all you hambers, need some help here as i am racking my brain with this.... Recently fitted a brand new holley 600 vac sec carb to my 327ci coupled to a 1965 alloy powerglide, my kick down doesnt work,if i adjust my upper k/down linkage to engauge kick down/downshift, she takes a fare while to upshift to second gear unless i really tramp it then it bangs into gear ok, when i back of the adjustment(mid way approx I get a nice gear change/ upshift, but absolutely no kick down :( this is starting to shit me as I would like kick down to work as well as having nice gear changing under normal driving conditions; ... has anyone else had this problem adapting the holley linkages to the powerglide any suggestions/advice would be much appreciated, its in my daily driver 59 chebby thanks in advance folks!!

    Holley should sell that.

  3. If you have a stock carb that worked with that linkage, or can get your eyes on one, measure the distance from the throttle shaft to the hole where the kickdown stud attaches to the throttle arm. If the throw is wrong, it may not work even if it seems to be adjusted correctly. You'll need to match that distance on the Holley somehow.

I've had that same sort of trouble on Mopar transmissions where the kickdown controls shift pressure.
