I got the car online from a guy. Said it had a clear ***le. I misspoke if I said "bought the ***le." The ***le came with the vehicle. Everything matches and is legit. The only problem is the ***le was never transferred to anyones name from 2 owners ago. So that means that since I can't get ahold of the previous ***led owner to have him transfer it to my name, I have to bond the ***le....

  2. Come on, you can't trace the old signature and invent a reciept for it? Just put it on a window on a bright day and try it a few times until you get it right.

Or if it's blank just have someone sign? I mean are we talking a recent ***le, or a 25 or more year old ***le?

Yeah, I know that's not right, but trust me when I say people do it all the time and it works.

Believe it or not I tried to do that. I tried to sign the signature for the guy over to me.....took it to the DMV and all...they said that since the previous owner bought it from a dealer and the ***le was still in the dealers name and not the new owners name, that only the dealer could re-***ign the ***le to me. Dealership closed many moons ago...

if the cops decide to impound the vehicle in the state of texas they will not let you have it until you can produce a ***le with your name on it. it wont take long before you have a hefty storage fee and not able to get it out. then some guy will end up buying it at auction for a toy or worse it could get crushed. do the work and secure a ***le, you wont regret that decision

I take it you want to run the same year plates as the car. Check with your state.

I know years ago in Pa. you could run a old plate as long as the Number was not being used. You had to go through a notary to do it.

i'm not sure if you can do it anymore in Pa.

  6. I agree... Sometimes you end up doing MORE work and spend MORE money trying to skirt around the right way to do something...

I put some old expired plates on an auction car that I bought just to run it down to the muffler shop about 2 miles from my house and got pulled over because the cop noticed the expired inspection sticker. He COULD have written me for about $1500 worth of tickets (on a car that I have less than $700 in...) but he was WAY cool and only wrote me for the inspection sticker and "improper display of license plates". He also added that it would have been better to run NO plate than the plate off of another vehicle. Luckily the plates were in my name. Expired, but in my name. He made me promise to NOT show up in court to fight the tickets (I'd have to be a ***** to even think about it anyway!!!) so that he didn't have to explain to the judge why he didn't write me for all of the other stuff that was wrong (insurance, ***ling, etc.).

And this is a car that I really don't give a damn about! I'd have been sweating bullets if it were my 49! I couldn't think about letting them take it into impound, etc....
