Oops, typo, I meant 406. Ford gave him a couple when they were new. I have a picture of him and the car in a HG Felson book.

  3. That's bad ass! Ivery always been a Fordman but if it's American made, old and cool I'll take it. Definitely prefer Ford power plants over the rest, but I'll try any of them once lol

Have you ever watched Lassie? Well I regrettably sold my 1959 Dodge D100... It's a freaking ex wife thing... I know that the true Lassie truck was a 1960... But..

One day I was working out in Vista California on a side project. A guy pulls up in a nice looking 66 Impala. He looks at the old battle axe and snarls his lip. He mentioned something about a real man drives a 396! Whoever drove that POS Dodge here needs to crush it and buy a real car.

Well, I am a cocky dude, and I looked at him and said to him that the Lassie truck will show him the rear bumper if he was ever misfortunate to try to keep up with me.

Needless to say, the opportunity came. I blipped oh, about 150 and he was nowhere to be seen. The next day he mentioned that it was impossible and it didn't make sense to him. I just let him wallow in his own self pity. Chevrolet built some really pretty cars, but to be honest, my 427 powered Camaro couldn't out run most of the Ford's and Mopars out there. The only "fast" chebbies I have seen were built using aftermarket parts from Brodix and etc...

Sorry to derail this topic, but I just had to share a similar experience involving hatred towards something else that wasn't chevy powered.

  5. Working on one now. 428 crank in a +030 60 Vette Project.jpg FE 427 CO = 462 cubes . I've got a 1960 Vette waiting.
9" rear out of a 1969 Mustang has the same rear end width have that as well. A picture of the Vette. It's a very reasonable build, total cost finished including the car ($2400) with my work is under $15K . Al Knoch interior and all.

Go the Y-block or 300 six. 302s are abit like small block chevs. Functional but uncool.

  8. Haha! you're exactly right ! and most the chevy guys swear up and down their 350 is far superior to the 5.0 fords, which is very false. and even if it was, what they fail to realize is that their beloved 350 also has 48 cubic inches over the 5.0. The only fast chevy I've seen too are ones built from everything but GM PARTS or it was a special edition . lol

  9. That's awesome ! can't wait to see more pictures

My 1969 Valiant has a slant six on steroids that I built 20 years ago. It STILL runs and throws the car sideways. It eats the 1990's 5.0 mustangs by a half a fender length in the quarter mile and devours most M3'S.... The only BMW(Bavarian Manure Wagon) that will get me are these new twin turbo beasts... They move out!

My old 1974 Ranchero was a really fast car back in the day before the river ate it in the 1990's Mississippi River Flood. I hate to say it, but it lost a race to a Chevy S10. The S10 was a complete tube chassis with a 383 stroker Chevrolet built with all racing parts. It was pink, ran like 9 second quarter miles, and the girl driving it was smoking hot! Her dad had a top fuel funny car, and he built it for her. I wish my dad was that cool!

Perhaps I should built a chevy with a flathead Chrysler six in it! Muhahahaha

  11. That's great man! hell, I'd build one with a slant 6 if I had the stuff and felt like it. I learned long ago not to give a shit what everybody else thinks lol
