Has anyone rebuilt Delco-lovejoy shocks

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 62pan, Aug 2, 2012.

  1. I have a pair of Delco-lovejoy shocks that I am trying to disassemble. I can't seem to be able to remove the seal cover or cam arm. Is the seal cover pressed on or threaded? As far as the cam arm it looks to be splined and no matter how much I try it is not moving. The shaft is in a blind hole so pressing it out is a no go. Any suggestions?

I would like to remove the cam arm and reposition it so it will work better with the amount of travel I have. These are single acting shocks that I have no idea what they off of. They do bolt right up to my 31 roadster frame like they were made for it. Numbers are 5307341 and 5307342.
