I am wondering if anyone in the Michigan area has seen my old 1941 Plymouth Coupe running around. I sold this car a few years ago and I am just wondering if it has been being driven? This was my first Hot Rod and I am just wondering what has happened to it. Let me give you guys a small break down of how I decided to build a 41 Plymouth and what inspired me to do so. Let's begin, in 2002 I had an accident on the job. I fell 10 ft. while working from an A-frame style ladder landing on a concrete floor which resulted in me fracturing my back in two places. Over time I decided to get a back operation to fix my back. Because of my injuries I was forced to find a new profession. So I decided that I would take a little time and figure out what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Well being only 26 years old my wife and I decided we should take my iNuity money I have earned over the years working and spend it on what I wanted. So we did what any young couple with two kids would do. We loaded up the F150 and car trailer and drove from NY to New Mexico to visit family. While in New Mexico I decided that I would try to find myself a decent project car. Because I did not know the area it was hard for me to get around. But on my last day there I made a wrong turn and there sat this 1941 Plymouth Business coupe. I was in shock becuase that was the same type of car I could remember seeing while I was growing up. Back tracking in my life, I grew up in a poor nieghborhood here in upstate NY. The only time we had a chance to see any type of Hot Rod or muscle car was at the shows that we had not been able to go to all the tiime. But thank goodness my uncle had a friend who had a built 41 Plymouth back then, I had to be around 10 yrs old at this time and everytime he would come done the street I would rush out to see his car. It had a blown sbc in it and to me it was cool. It was not aone of those billet special type of cars either, it was dark maroon with red interior. No bumpers and cragars all the way around with wrapped with black wall tires. This car is one of the ones that hooked me into the Hot Rod seen. So anyway when I saw this 41 Plymouth sitting here in New Mexico all In could think of was of the one I admired so much when I was a kid. So needless to say I went right down to the door and ask if it was for sale. To my surprise it was for sale but it was hard for the guy to sell it because this car was a member of his family for years. So when we were getting it loaded the gentlemens nieghbor come out and could not believe that he was selling the car. So she asked if we could pose next to the car together. We both agreed and stood next to the car while she took some pictures of us. When she was done she said they were going to put this in the local paper and tell the story about the car. After I got back to NY my mother and father had contacted me and sent the cliping of the story about my car. (I will try and locate this and upload it) So, I sent back finished picture of the car for them to give the guy like I had promised him I would. Anyway I had to sell the car but I had another project in the garage and started going back to school to keep me occupied. But when I go out in my garage and look at the picture of my old Plymouth I always wonder what is going on with it. Well I will post some pictures for you guys
