Technical Has anyone seen one of these deletes before?

I found this at a local car show, I had never seen one so I had to buy it just to find out what its from. I have searched the internet and ebay and found nothing so far. Has anyone hear ever come across one? Its about 9 inches long. I am thinking its a Dash top clock delete.

 

If you were trying to delete something, why would you make the "delete" stick up like that? Usually they are a flat plate. I think it looks more like a fake light for a 50's bicycle.

 

Or maybe an old pedal car? Obviously just a wild ass guess on my part.

Maybe the vendor got rid of two unknown parts at the same time.

 

My 52 Chevy styline has a clock housing on top of the dash that looks similar..

 

judging by the fit, they are from 3 different soures.
