Special combination...exacting machinist/creative artist/metalworker - this guy could have gotten lost in industry somewhere...but he certainly seems to have found his calling, and the world of hot rods is all the better for his presence and contribution.

Don't ya just wanna HANG with this guy?....maybe get lucky and have him actually ask YOUR opinion on something?

He had a cool article written about him in Garage Magazine a few issues back. Awesome attention to detail, a true craftsman.

MAn even after finding this again after time has passed. I am still amazed by this. I think Sellers does the kind of work I want to do in my heart. But get bored or just sick of working on something. I think I have the vision and eye for doing cool stuff I just get lazy! Maybe I just need to take my brain pillz.

How do you keep your focus Sellers?
I noticed the "I think to much" written on some metal somewhere I do the exact same thing I sometimes think about thinking too much, but man you finish the stuff!

I am in a panel fab. class here at my university and they have all these fancy pullmax tools and english wheels and all that jazz. Man I don't think I would have signed up if I knew the work I could do with the basic tools. I thought you had to have english wheels and huge monster super expensive junk. this guy needs to write a book or just show the step by step tech on how he does stuff, so I can buy it and save money on tuition.

Good thing this stuff isn't a competition, cause with Mr. Webb and Mr. Sellers around, most of us would never win anything. This is as nice as the old Miller work.

Hey thanks buddy, You mentioned FOCUS, for me i think it really paid off building Lego's ( visioning things) and then building model cars (DETAIL) i feel i learned patients at a young age. I could sit for hrs and hrs building Lego's and models. Over the years it followed me into building and designing cars. I never look at a time thing, sure when billing i try to keep to a money figure for the customer, but then i come up with a idea , knowing it would look sick when its done, Customer is beyond happy, and its kinda like a rolling billboard that will speak for its self for ever. Rod Furtado once told me " WHAT IS YOUR TIME WORTH" that you can build, fab, machine anything. When i working time is out the window, i just know when im done its gonna look SICK! its about pleasing me, and the customer. I think whats the rush, it doesnt need to be at a car show tommorow. If i just put another hr or two in it its perfect. Over the years i learned super simply ways to build or finsih things off, i really need to get off my ass and show others on here, by takeing some pics and alittle step by step, I never had fancy equiptment i just used what i had with stuff that pretty much everyone of you have in your own shop or garage. I guess its a matter of staying focused on what your doing, taking one bite at a time, when getting frustrated, i learned to walk away and come back, and you see it right then and there. I feel some people really over think things, it can be soo simply and its right in front of you. You just have to think about it, look at it t every angle, take your time, whats the rush, make it safe! put a F!@$!ing floor in it, whats your life worth? spend the extra buck or two for that steering set up. If your not sure on something ASK? i get guys on here that will P.M and in there Title it says DUMB ? I dont feel any ? is a dumb ? we don't know it all, will we learn this by making mistakes, or ASKING. I really wish i had the answer on the patients, just stay focused on what your doing, don't look at the big picture, sooner or later you'll finish it,, you ever looked at cities where the whole town is paved in bricks? I think to myself someone layed this whole town out brick by brick. ~S quote=VonMoldy;3352422]MAn even after finding this again after time has passed. I am still amazed by this. Thanks for the reply lots of wisdom in there. Totally right walking away helps a ton. And I find myself spending more time trying to fix something just to please myself. I think I just need to keep that in mind at all times. Sorry don't mean to make this thread all philosophical, just can really relate most of the stuff you mention doing in the garage article. I did scuffing model tires too and just figuring out solutions to problems like the example with the flower wrapping. I think I just lose focus.Just thought I would take the opportunity to get some insight.

What you said about over thinking made me think of this quote.

"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler." -Albert Einstein

Man I don’t know how I didn’t trip across this sooner. You’ve got “the look” down to a science, and god knows that state of mind is likely the holy grail of this thing we do. Thanks for taking all that time honing your skills, it's a huge payoff for us man, makes my day eyeballin through these photos. Hey would I be outta line to ask you to shoot the shit a little about yourself - this all smells like good history. I’m curious to hear more about where your heads been and going.
