Hey guys, it's been a long time since I have been here, as I didn't make much progress on the 1959 F-100 project, and if I don't have anything to report, I'll just be quiet.
I located a 1971 400 cubic inch engine mated to a C-6 tranny in Carlsbad, about a hundred miles away. They are both Ford Factory Rebuilds, that were put in storage two months after they were installed in the LTD in which they currently reside. Once the car was put in covered storage in 2008, it was never fired up or run, the owner died of Cancer several months after putting the car in storage.
His wife, a retired Methodist Pastor, sold me the entire car for a hundred dollars, five months ago, and due to a paperwork issue, it can not be registered here in Texas. It's a shame, the vinyl roof and paint are not even faded.
Anyway, there is a possibility that the power train from that car can resurrect two trucks that I have.
My 1990 460 powered F-350's Ralph Nader injection system is now so unreliable, that I don't drive it any more. I have torn all the computer JUNK off the engine, and got a brand new points type Distributor, four barrel Holley, aluminum Elelbrock intake, and a set of 1970 heads. The problem is, that the junk the day it was built 4EOD tranny won't do anything if a worthless computer doesn't tell it what to do, SOOO... GUESS where the C-6 is going??
The 400 engine will be mated to the T-18 tranny in the 1959 F-100, (do I need a special bell housing??) and then I will finish the resto-mod on it.
COMMENTS on the two transplants please? NO arguments about hard failing computer smog junk, I won't have it in any of my vehicles anymore, and I DON'T need to have a smog check in this rural Texas County, so I'm golden.

An adaptor from 400/429/460 to your bell will be needed, if they make one. Probably need to try WilCap, they'll have it if anyone will.
