Have ya ever saw a 4 on the tree ?

A friend of mine had a girlfriend in about 1970 that had a Chevy van with the 4 on the tree. What more could you ask for in those days, Girl with a van and a 4 speed.

Went to see the van today,,,,,,,,after I tore his son away from his video game he walked me past his junkyard dog(ugly)and there it was ,,,,,,an old sixtys van that is now a mobile storage building and has son confirmed it is indeed a 4-speed,,,,,,,

I ask if I could check it out....sure ya can mister!........door lock and jr. don't know anything about a key.............When is dad gonna be home?....kid says, "I

I bought a 53 Panel,(Satin's now), and it had a 4 on the tree. This one was set up wacky though. Regular 1st, second, third , then reverse was 4th , now if you wanted reverse go into neutral and pull on the old choke handle that was tied into the reverse cog with a rod. I thought it was kinda strange when the guy i bought it from said "here, let me take you out and show you how to drive it"!
