They may have used one of the BB frames, I know all the '32 Cars & pickups share a 106 in frame, I'll do some more research and try to locate the sizes of the BB truck frames. HRP

I found my 1932 Ford Book and it list all the 32 Frames

All the p***enger frames are 106" wheel base

The panel body, stake body & platform body frames came in two sizes - 131.5" and 157"

The School Bus frame was 157"

My thought is they used one of these as a base for the he****. HRP

It’s hard to tell for sure but it looks like the character line is pressed on the rails.
The Truck frames are slab sided and have a deeper vertical section than the P***enger and Commercial Car frames.
I’m thinking it is a lengthened P***enger frame, but don’t know for sure.

You are correct, the BB truck frames are void of the character line denoting the '32 but it's hard to tell if the frame is a commercial or a p***enger piece. HRP

My dad is a mortician (funeral director in his explanation). He is 89 years old and always into cars. So his firsthand knowledge goes back to 1952 or so. That 32 wouldn't have been used much when he started in 1952. The pre-war cars were ditched as fast as they could have been after the war. The fact that it survived is nothing short of amazing. Same with flower cars, ambulances and the like. He states that a lot of these were custom one offs. The main players were Miller Meteor Superior and a couple others. But back pre war there were so many one offs and (by todays standards) smaller companies that yet to be absorbed by the bigger manufacturers that is very difficult to track who made what. Truly a rare car. If there was do***entation I bet dad could offer an opinion.

  15. When the pic of the 34 Ford He**** was taken in Sydney it was owned by Gary Hicks, he lived in Katoomba, west of Sydney in the Blue Mountains and it was part of the Blue Mountains Rod & Custom Clubs display at the New South Wales Hot Rod Show in the Bankstown Square Shopping Centre..........around 1982/83 maybe........good to hear its still around & being restored........next to it is Mike Burrells 48 Chev Sedan then Dennis Lee's 64 Impala H/top......the "Redtape Motor Registry" was our dig at the registration process back then.......lol...... ..andyd

That would look good sitting beside the gray dodge that belongs to McDougalds funeral home there in Anderson.

  20. Even then they were building "he****/ambulance combinations". The funeral service generally ran the "ambulance" service. In 1959 a high-top Cadillac combination could carry 7 patients and/or corpse. A problem developed with corpse being financially worth more to funeral home than transport of a patient. The first "ambulance" on the scene would scoop up the dead. Second ambulance got the injured. Not exactly what you would call First Responders!
Just yesterday saw a t-shirt with 1959 Cadillac landau he**** and the lettering Last Responder. Lol

1 more car I promise, Rex Winter

Well now that makes perfect sense, at least until the invention of the electric starter, many (most?) women were not strong enough to start a car.

As an added plus, every car on the streets of small towns will stop and yield to you as you p*** through. Uh, maybe p*** through wasn't a proper choice of words ! LOL.

For those who might not know, that pic is a 34 Packard, not a Lincoln. We now return to our regularly sheduled programming...

I haven't seen a 1932 Ford he**** but in the late sixties there was a junkyard in a town 20 miles east of home that had a 33/34 ford he**** behind the office. It was definitely not for sale. It sat there until the owner died then everything got crushed.
