I am posting this pic for a friend in Australia. He has 40 Ford and said this is the original hood for it. Have you ever seen a hood with these 3 "scoops" on the side of any 40 Ford ?hood ?[IMG]

Yep, it is a 40 Ford deluxe with some goofy looking zeros stuck on it. Is it yours?

I never seen a hood like that, but it wouldn't suprise me if someone used the fender ports of a 49 buick for a little custom expression. They look just like them.

Hood is original however the port holes as per Squirrel are aftermarket trinkets.

No not mine. I pretty much thought that was the case but didn't know if something could have been different across the ocean. It is a friends brother building am all original car. I will have to tell him to join up here on the HAMB, sure he would appreciate the info.

So many cars and trucks had those "trinkets" put on them in our town,
Western Auto and Coast to Coast stores must have sold millions. Probably could today.

They still sell a version of those, only they are plastic stick on. You can find them at Wal Mart and other chain stores. See them all the time on late model rice burners and other junk. The boyz in the da hood really go for them on their Chrysler 300's and Chevy Caprice's.

  13. We can't afford Buicks here, we have to make our own.
