I really like this. It reminds me of a simpler time back before we started thinking we were "time poor". Parts were cheap and finished goods expensive. Hammerfinish paint. Parts bolted or threaded so that you could dissassemble to adjust or repair... few "snap together" lugs to break the tabs off in error. Dymo labels.

    Cheers,

I keep a few in my for sale inventory. I think I have 4 right now,
most are multimeters, or renamed to " Analyzer"
Might sell one or two a year instead of a couple a month.
    We're all turning into dinosaurs.

How do those thangs really work?!
(I KNOW they are used to alter the timing curve in a distributor....but HOW do they work?)

Interesting, I wonder if it was the same group that came up with the LA family of engines;)

I use my dwell meter on a pretty regular basis at work for everything but points ignition.
They work great for checking pwm solenoid driver outputs.
Introduce the younger guys to a dwell meter in that manner.

I don't remember the last time to use a dwell meter, must be about 50 years ago!

@Moriarity. That Sun distributor machine looks exactly like the one Bud Moore used to have in his shop. When I was just a kid Pop would take stuff to Bud's brother Don, who worked on street vehicles in his spare time. When I first started dirt racing Don helped me out some, because I really didnt know squat. He would always take my distributors to Bud's and set them up.
