Seen a crown shaped gas cap for a model a gas tank? Or any ideas at all on how to possible make one myself? I am not using it as a gas tank anymore of course so making one is def an option. Any ideas or even pictures would be super appreaciated. Thanks

Havent seen one myself. If you were able to score a nice metal crown in the diameter you needed and maybe silver solder it on it might work.

Othwerwise there's always the dreaded plastic vending machine and JB weld if you want it to look super ****ptacular.

You can do a one off casting. carve the shape out of Styrofoam and then cover it with masking tape. Have someone who does sand casting cast the shape into br*** or aluminum. It will still need some grinding and polishing. The process is the tape and styro form is imbedded into the sand. Hot molten metal displaces the form by dissolving it.

  9. Lost wax casting is real easy.Carve a wax crown, imerse in plaster. Melt a junk fender mirror in a can on the stove. Pour the pot metal into a small hole in the plaster mould. The metal melts the wax, which runs out a drain hole. Remove the plaster once cool. Done. Look up lost wax casting on your computer.Easy to find, easy to do. Dash knobs, small items of any kind can be made very easily. Good luck.
