I have avoided mine all weekend, frankly , were not on speaking terms at the moment. I have issues with its treatment of me, I dont feel that my effort was valued.

I'm looking at getting mine back on the road, so if it plays nice I might give it a hug. But as for the gearbox thats another story....

 

Yep, I even rubbed on her a little bit. She likes that ya know.

Didn't hug it, but I did give it a quick pet while I was doing the brake job on my later-model daily.

I did, she likes it when you start off quick, then let her idle down a bit. She only likes to be choked, ever so slightly. Then I had to steal her battery to get the little Nova started. She fired right back up this evening, to go in the shop. I really need to get all the stuff for a good tune up, all the plug wires have electrical tape on a few of the breaks. I know, I'm cheap. But also, trying to finish each phase as it comes.

 

Hugged both of mine today, the 40 had been sitting all winter, fired right up let it run for a while , jumped in the AV8 roadster it fired right up , they're ready for the spring...........Damn Flathead's are kool

 

We don't like each other right now, and if it keeps giving me the cold shoulder, I might have an affair with something a little younger, that has the valves sitting up a little higher.....................

 

Ummmmm, yea.

 

I don't own a flathead.

But when I do, I'll beat the **** out of it just like I would any engine.

Well, not really. As a matter of fact she's not feelin' to good right now 'cause she's pissin like a racehorse on the floor. Instead of getting Depends for the old girl I think a new water pump should do the trick.

That'll happen in a week or so when I'm done with this robot building stuff.

My Flathead six was so good to me today I changed her oil and gave her a tune up.

 

I hugged mine Thursday and kept my arms around her all weekend. She fired right up in the 4 deg. F. and ran perfectly (with a slight bit of choke") all the way to the fairgrounds for the 500 W. o W. I was kinda sad when I had to take her home to that unheated storage unit last night.

 

I have a love/hate relationship with all our Flatheads... We've got a '39 Zephyr V-12, '39 Ford 221 c.i. 85 HP, '47 "Full House", '49 Cosmo 337 c.i., '51 8RT "Full House" and a '53 8BA that needs a rebuild.

 

I've been preparing a nice present for mine. I think she is really going to like it.

 

Haven't touvhed mione in a while. Cold as all get out lately. I swear about it quite often. Maybe I too will get it a V-Day present.....5 quarts of Rotella.

 

I need to yank the heater back out and get a small leak repaired- then back in for some Springtime drivin'.... soon oh so soon.
