Electra bicycles are doing some cool stuff these days- Hot Rod themed cruisers, retro style and all. They even have a Rat Fink bike, and I don't hate it:

I picked up the catalog because they used a ton of David Perry's black and white Hot Rod pictures from cover to cover. (even a shot of my wife in there!) Anyway, the Fink bike and a few other look pretty good, so I thought I would post.

It's okay. Ed would have done something a lot neater if he could have gotten a deal together to produce them, back when the Schwinn Stringray was so big. I'm sure that he thought about it.

I see some parts I could DEFINITELY use, but if I could put money into a bike, most of the budget would go into a FatLucky's seat!

You rich bast#@D Jdub.... You never even asked me for a deal. I hope you made Assen@#$%^ richer! You need to have some responsibilities (kids) so you'll look for a deal. Cause you won't have all that money to blow. You HAMB trader. [IMG]

Don.....just come to your HAMB bike shop and I'll hook ya up.

Sean...the Nirve chopper will be out in May. Go to nirve.com or nirvebikes.com and check out the choppers and the John Deere and Mooneyes bikes. Kinda cool.

This Sunday is the worlds largest antique bike swap in Saline Mi. 24th annual. Good stuff.

Any of you bike shop owners or industry insiders know what happened to Dyno? Any thing they did wrong?

Dave...I agree with you about a Roth Sting-Ray bike...I wonder what Newt would have come up with? I would show you our Mysterion Sting-Ray plans, but I don't want Gege to mess up my good mood today! [IMG]

Nirve's Switchblade should be out early summer, so I'm told. I really like the quality and style of their bikes.

Electra.... I got issues with the German dudes living in the USA cashing in on Kustom Kulture and the American "hot rod" lifestyle, but that's my beef.

IMO the rat fink bike is just not rat fink enough and I am wondering when the von dutch and sailor jerry editons are coming out.... hmmm????

I have seen that Nirve bike in person and the dude that designs them is also the same guy that designed the Dyno bikes back at GT. he also used to own the now defunct Orange County Kustoms shop in santa ana. he has a few cars that he built himsef (you might remember the grey & orange shoebox in the Dyno catalogs) the Giant stiletto is a real nice bike as well.

and in case you didnt know file: Schwinn is coming out with an adult Version of the new Stingray bike and Razor (yes the scooter company) has a pretty crazy electric chopper coming to an Autozone near you...

Now that I want to see! One of the best bikes I ever had was a modified Manta Ray....If they can cross the ride of the Manta with the style of the Sting-Ray, I'll be first in line...
There should be No reason for a grown man to ride a Sting-Ray,unless you are a whisper-thin or petite fellow....Man Ass hanging off the sides of a Sting-Ray seat ain't "street"..it's just CREEPY! [IMG]
