I just couldn't take it anymore! I've been working on my '52 for DAYS and haven't even driven it down the street... no hood, windshield, door, rockers, etc. and nothing to bolt the seat to (gotta drill out the floor braces I welded in). It felt GOOD! Sometimes you gotta remind yourself why you're working so hard in the first place... 'cause bombing around and making noise is FUN! -ns <embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i185.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid185.photobucket.com/albums/x66/doublezo1/P4120269_02.flv" height="361" width="448">
It's hard for me to type 'cause I shut my hand in my car door,,,you wouldn't understand. Kisses, Rusk
Ha! I don't have much to worry about... I'm lucky enough to be working on my ride over at my good friend Brian(Double ZO here on the HAMB)'s house! They're HIS neighbors, not mine! Actually, they're all pretty cool with the noise, one guy has a bunch of Harleys and whatnot... I'll post more pics as I get things done. I've already worked and welded the inner and outer 1/4 and the floor braces. Next up will be the floor pans, then on to the inner and outer rockers (this thing was rustier than I ever dreamed!) Oh yeah, then it's on to the passenger side for the same treatment... man oh man, Jesse
Thanks man... It's a stock 235 with Fenton headers dumping to 1 3/4" pipes for a couple of feet, stepping down to 1 1/2" for another couple of feet, and finally down to 1 1/4" pipes for the rest of the way. Out back I have 1 1/2" pencil tips, although I doubt that contributes much to the sound. Oh yeah I forgot... NO MUFFLERS!!! Someday I might put a really short glass pack backwards on one side just to experiment, but I'm plenty happy with the sound now (especially coming off the freeway!). -Jesse
It's all about the "6"... nothing out there sounds like that! Kinda like nothing can sound like a Ford Flathead or a Nailhead! Signature sounds... Don't forget, you can go WAY faster than I can!
That's actually pretty considerate and respectful driving in parts of Oakland. His neighbors probably do appreciate him. Do you have seat-belts young man?
I do, but I haven't installed them yet... not to worry, sir, it was just a spin around the block... not really concerned with seat-belts when the seats not bolted down and the floor doesn't exist yet ... - J
