Here the forecast is for sunshine, no clouds and 65 degrees again today. I'm not posting this to rub it in, it is just the flip side of our long, hot summers. Nest August when I'm dreaming of cool weather I'll remind myself of what it is like in in the Winter versus what it is like for our friends up North.

I drove right through the area that's getting hammered now about a week ago, I can only imagine how long things are gonna be shut down there!!! BTW in the "Winter Wonderland" (used to say that on our liscense plates) of Michigan, at least this neck o'the woods, we have a quarter inch....:D:D:D

Still coming at a rate of 2" an hour.

Don't expect anything from the federal gubment for the next week or so.:D The gubment workers go completely bonkers with 2" of snow.

4"s and I'd be doing donuts in the cul-de-sac with the roadster...24".... I don't think so.

I remember as a kid in the 50s the old timers talking about the snow in "aught 4".:D The youngsters in this area will be talking about the blizzard of aught 9 for many years to come.

Stuck at the firehouse- depending on when relief gets in could be stuck through Sunday evening. 2"/hr, blizzard warning. Now all we need is a good blaze.

It's getting pretty bad here in Adams co , Pa right now .
It's been snowing since 11 pm last night . It's been snowing very heavily for about 3-4 hours now and they have plowed our back road twice , then they came back and just turned around and left ! This snow is piling up as fast as I have seen it for many years now . We haven't even gotten to the bad snowfall yet and we are looking at 12" plus right now !
The worst is suppose to hit use later with 30 mph winds and snow falling at the rate of 1" plus an hour ! Weather station says we are going to be looking at 15" to 25" when it's all over .
Oh well I guess I will just fire up the wood stove in the garage if I want to work in the garage .
To tell you the truth , I am watching a movie and watching the snow coming down hard again and getting very windy now ! Glad my snow blower is running fine and in the garage ready to go tomorrow ! Then all the drifting starts . Oh well !

    Merry Christmas to all !

Retiring to SoCal is in my 10 year plan. Still cold as balls here and as nasty as a*******'s taint.

Just got back from a 50 drive in the '34, had to open the bottom of the windshield...getting kind of toasty...t-shirt weather, same tomorrow...
    you guys have fun.....

all teasing aside, you guys stay safe. I have no idea what weather like that is like, but three people have been killed thus far...3 too many, especially during Christmas..

Hope everyone stays warm, god bless the power workers if they gotta repair something in this mess.

I live close to O.J. and 61 CAD and I echo their comments. The kids in a 75+ mi. radius of D.C. won't have to worry about school until after 1-1-10. My grandkids are happy as hell. We've got a pot of soup on the stove and plenty of booze at the bar. Merry (white) Christmas.

We're up to 15" right now and it's still coming down at a reasonable pace.

Hey CB ..keep that sheet down in your backyard ..

  28. I love to see snow in a picture taken somewhere far away for a calendar or a Christmas card. I lived in Baltimore 15 years and got enough snow to last me a lifetime. I remember my father, every time we got a few flurries, would say that he saw all of the snow he ever wanted to see during the Battle of the Bulge.
