Any HAMBers ever had a car transported by a classic car moving company from one state to another? I am thinking of buying a car back in Kansas and having it shipped to California. I'm wondering what a ballpark figure might be on cost for this and if anyone can recommend a company for this? Thanks
Get in touch with my friend Ed Brown,,,,He just sold his 37 convertible to a guy on the west coast and had it shipped,,,,,tell him Danny told ya to e-mail him........ HRP Ed37ragtop@juno.com
If I could find the post about the free Chrysler or Plymouth or something in CA again I'd be pretty sure to get a hauler from Ohio to make the trip, since he'd have a return. I think he gets like $1- $1.25 a loaded mile. Figure out the mileage and you'd know what it'd cost. He runs a 20ft. Dodge and a wheel-dolly, so if ya needed more-n-one hauled, one better roll good! He's the only guy I could find who'd haul my hearse back from Mike Landwher's place in Mn for a grand. Everybody else wanted $1,700+ cuz it was big and not running...
Having a car shipped from Reno to NJ - closed trailer, 1,295. Kansas to Cal probably around 1,000. Could be cheaper if open trailer. Kinda depends where in Kansas you are. If off the beaten track they may charge more.
A friend in England bought my Toronado and used Horseless Carriage to pick it up and take it to New Jersey for the boat ride. I was impressed with the professional attitude of the driver, the condition of the truck/trailer, and the level of documentation. Very good company. Jim
