So I started a thread, wrote this super long post, added picture via the image adder thingy at the top of the "create thread" page. I am using my Google photos account for the photo host site. While creating the post, all my photos show up perfectly. When I go to the "preview post" page, some of the photos just show up as a little generic thumbnail photo with an x but some show up perfectly. What gives? What do I need to do to get all of the pics to show up? Here is an example. Both pictures are pretty similar yet one shows up fine, the other doesn't.

I see both of them, but they will probably get axed for being off topic.

Google photos have issues with hot linking... I would suggest just uploading photos directly to the forum as I can't really trouble shoot what's going wrong at Google.

Whoa. That was so much easier than messing with the google photo stuff! Thanks Ryan. Sorry for my incompetence.

    Hello,

Google photos storage is good. There is no ransom to get the photos out of the files. But, most current digital cameras (and the new phones) have large MP settings. That makes the photo quite large when copying from the source and posting directly to the HAMB threads/posts. Then the photo, however taken, is usually full page and a lot of times, out of focus.

A suggestion for quality photos from a digital camera or even the newer phone cameras is to get the images from Google that you have saved and load them individually in your photo files. From those computer files, you can adjust the size and images to fit the HAMB thread or post. Then we all don't get that dreaded image of more sky or ground than hot rod. The photo of the hot rod should be in focus as a lot of cameras are auto focus.

But, it still takes some work to get the image edited. Most photos are not posed as per magazine articles or photo displays of a hot rod. They are taken with a phone or digital camera in the pits, car show or neighborhood gatherings. So, the shoot is random and you get what you take. That is where the editing of each photo comes into play. Some angles play with the color of the photo, the hot rod takes on a different prospective when moving/shooting around the build. So, the editing feature we all have is good for a nice presentation on any post.

The best thing is one can adjust the photo to fit the story in any place of the paragraph. Sometimes, a large photo is good and a lot of times, it overpowers the story. So, that is your choice. Clarity in any photo is difficult as one photo gets larger, even from phone photos. the key thing is it makes it easier to get all of your photos "ready" and not just straight from the phone or digital camera to the post. Editing before posting is always certain your post will get a good display and not just a random series of photos jammed into a thread or post.

It is time consuming, but adjusting the photo to take out the odd things that don't need to be in the actual photo is a good way for any presentation. Not necessarily photoshopping every photo, but just simple things like a tall palm tree in the background or people wandering around that makes the hot rod image not the center focus of the shot.
