Hello again! I am Farmer's Dad here in Kansas. My name is SouthsideJohnny. I've been so busy working on cars and writing a book and painting, that I've been "out of the HAMB loop" for quite some time. I think you've changed forums at least 3 times since I've been gone. I am currently working on my '31 Chevy hot/rat rod. I know, I know.......people don't like to use the term "rat rod", although in Kansas, that's what they're calling them. And, frankly, they don't care what you call them in California! You all think we are a little backwards out here in the Midwest, anyway, but remember, in the 50's, Daryl Starbird and others that are now icons in the custom world, started in Wichita, KS. So, we're not just farmers out here. Now that we've got that out of the way, I'll post pictures of my car as it gets closer to completion and of my 60's style gas station in my back yard. By, the way, I need another Model 96 Gilbarco pump, if anyone knows where I can find one. I would like to have it at least 1-state's driving distance from Kansas (or closer would be even better!) I could go for a HAMB run like my son, Farmer did for a guy's Dodge. I also paint street rods on just about anything that sits still. Have been selling some stuff on eBay, under the seller ID of misslea53 (my wife's ID). I paint under the name "B-53". I'll try to post a pic of my latest project. If anyone is interested in buying some original art work, contact me or go to our eBay site. It is actually a hobby I've always done, but people started requesting it, so now I sell it, but mostly I have fun with it. I hope to drive my Chevy to Billet Proof in California in September. It's going to be just slightly less than a miracle, but I'm going to give it a try, anyway. Hope to get reacquainted with other rodders!
