Hello All, I recently got my hands on a 1930 5-Window with a stock drivetrain. I'm thinking about doing a downdraft with a single 97, header, and updated points. I would like to switch the head and there's a ton to choose from! I'm thinking 5:5-1 or 6:0-1 compression. I don't want to go any "deeper" into this engine. Long term I see a flathead V-8 and updated to 12 volt. What do you think? Thoughts? Thanks Much-
head and intake will help a lot. I would go 6/6.5 to 1 http://vintageford.com good luck with your new car Bill
Thanks Bill, Any thoughts on the Lion vs. Winfield vs. Brumfield (http://www.modelatrader.com/brumfield/brumfield.html)? Cast or Aluminum? Much Thanks! C
Some say the lion make good power but I don't like the look of it so it's not on my list. I bought a Thomas repop but some day I would like to find a old head. Any head will make more power the the stock one you have. I you don't plain to keep it don't spend big bucks. Then again 4 years a go I was in the same boat. I just wonted more power until I got my flathead V8 done. Now I have 3 banger in the works
